Mangalore : The members of Popular Front of India (PFI) staged a protest in front of the DC’s office on July 22, Friday, condemning the state government’s policy against Muslim organizations and provocative statements.
Addressing the protestors, G. Rajashekar, president of Komu Sauharda Vedike said that that the government’s is in urge to ban KFD based on the Hunsoor kidnap and murder case which shows the prejudice of the BJP-led state government against KFD.
He also accused the government changing the minds of public from the fact that it has made Karnataka the most corrupt state in India.
He condemned the provocative statements made by Home Minister R. Ashok and Primary and Higher Education Minister Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri regarding the Bhagavad Gita Abhiyan in schools and the banning of KFD.
Mohammed Riyaz, the leader of PFI, accused the government of playing various cheap tricks in a fear of losing the next elections and challenged the government to ban the organization
The agitators then submitted a memorandum addressed to the H. R. Bharadwaj, the governor of Karnataka, to the DC.
