Mangalore: The Popular Front of India will be holding a huge public meet at Town Hall in Mangalore on November 2 with the theme ‘Why Popular Front?” The meet has been organized to allay misconceptions about the organization.
Informing this at a press meet, Abdul Razak Kemmara, State Committee Member of PFI said there was a conspiracy to defame the Popular Front by some vested interests.
He said “Misleading reports have appeared in some newspapers stating the youth arrested in Hubli were PFI members.” He made it clear that the agenda of the PFI was to uphold constitutional rights and said a nationwide campaign was thus launched to allay misconceptions and to clarify doubts, He also said PFI always stood for human rights and educational rights.
The Mangalore convention of PFI would be attended among others by PFI National general secretary K M Sharief and Karnataka State president Ilyas Mohammed Thumbe. Nearly 10000 PFI workers from DK and Udupi districts are expected to take part.
