Udupi : State Minister for Higher Education CT Ravi has said a post-graduate study centre of Mangalore University will come up at Udupi.
Speaking to reporters here on January 13, Sunday, the minister said the location of the centre is not yet decided and a decision would be taken after the university level committee would submit its report.
The minister also said that the Udupi MLA had suggested a place at Kolalagiri while Kaup MLA wants the centre at Belapu.
CT Ravi said the government has plans to open more engineering colleges in the state. He said presently there were 15 government engineering colleges and 181 private engineering colleges. The state has ten medical colleges at present and added the proposal to open seven more colleges, is awaiting a cabinet approval.
He said there was no confusion in selection of candidates for the ensuing assembly elections as well as appointment of state BJP President. He said the party has finalized a list of 150 candidates.
