Mangaluru: The Phone-in programme conducted on October 5, Friday by City Police Commissioner T R Suresh along with DCP (Crime andTraffic) Uma Prashanth received a host of complaints from the members of the public regarding city bus services.
A person from Kankanady complained that conductors of buses plying on the Akash Bhavan route were not issuing tickets. Responding to the grievance, the Commissioner assured to look into the problem.
A similar complaint was made by another caller who said conductor of buses on Suratkal route too were not issuing tickets and that they behaved in a high-handed manner when questioned.
A caller from Kavoor said a couple of buses which remain parked on the roadside in between Kavoor and Kulur created problems.
A person from Kudroli complained that crossing the road has become a tedious task near Kudroli shrine with a number of vehicles parked on either sides.
During the phone-in, Vijay Kanchan, Head Constable of Moodbidri Police Station and a personnel of Mangaluru North Anti-Rowdy Squad was felicitated by Commissioner T R Suresh and DCP Uma Prashanth for winning second spot in 105 kg category at the Asian bench press championship held in UAE last month.
