Mangaluru : Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Mayor Kavitha Sanil and Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer participate in a phone-in programme on May 23 between 10 AM and 11 AM every month.

Speaking to media persons on Friday Mayor Kavitha Sanil said, MCC has also decided to hold phone-in programmes every month to listen the public grievances. The city residents can dial 0824-2220301 or 0824-2220318 to provide information on their problems to MCC.

The two hot lines will operate for 24 hours in 7 days of a week during upcoming monsoon season to address any emergency. We will set up an emergency cell consisting of 10 members to help people during emergency. The members will be trained by specialists from Bengaluru.

Speaking about Malavoor dam water contamination , Kavitha Sanil said, the water is being polluted by a pipeline which comes through Kenjar and it belongs to SEZ area. sewage water is not discharged into the river whenever there is any power faliure. During the visit, she said.

MCC commissioner Mohammed Nazeer, MCC chief whip Shashidhar Hegde and others were present.
