Udupi: The Kaup (Kapu) police arrested a physical instructor of a Kundapur college, Chandrashekhar Adiga, on students’ complaints against him over molesting a girl student on the occasion of School Day, and recording the act on his mobile phone to blackmail her.

The students had boycotted classes and urged the concerned administration to fire the instructor out of his job, for his sex exploits.

They also sent a memorandum to Block Education officer, M.N. Madhysta, to find out what the matter was. Another group of senior students had begged to differ and claimed that Adiga was being framed by his enemies in the school, but wanted the police to investigate into the case to reach at the truth.

The BEO told the students on strike not to lose precious class hours and also that he would punish the wrong-doer, whoever he is.

The Kaup police produced Adiga in a court and remanded him to judicial custody till Saturday to cool his heels.
