Mangaluru: Mangaluru based physician lost his Rs 14 lakh cash after he fell into a honey trap in the city by a hi tech prostitution racket. The victim of the trap, physician works at a well known hospital in Mangaluru. The police arrested the accused Someshwara based Narayana Saliyan, Mohammed Kunhi of Ullal and Sadik in connection to the case. In addition to the 3 arrested, other three accused including a lady reportedly absconding and police yet to trace and nab them.

The physician and the main accused Mohammed Kunhi were known to each other and Kunhi known the ‘weakness’ of the physician. Knowing his tendency towards beautiful ladies, Kunhi and Sadik planned to rob the doctor using a woman as a medium. According to the sketch, the two accused brought a sexy woman to the city and sent her with the doctor on May 02. Later, other three accused, Narayana Saliyan and other two came in the disguise of police when the doctor was on his way with the lady in his car and took the both into their custody to bring the doctor to a secret location by their car.

Later, the accused took obscene photographs of the doctor with the lady and warned him that his nude photographs will go online if he fails to pay a sum of Rs 14 lakhs to them. Following the warning, the doctor managed to transfer Rs 14 lakh from his account to the bank accounts of the accused immediately. However, the gang demanded additional cash from the doctor after some days. Following their warning, the doctor filed a complaint before Kadri police and the police inspector Maruthi Nayak and his team arrested the accused. The arrested gang sent for judicial custody by a local court here.
