Belthangady : A pick-up van and a bike was involved in a head-on collision at Uruvalu Aleji in the taluk on Thursday May 12 as a result the rider of the bike was dead, while the pillion rider sustained serious injuries.

K P Abdulla (38) from Kudradka in Machina village was the bike rider and his relative Yaqub was the pillion, who has been hospitalised in Mangaluru with serious injuries .

The two wheeler was on his way to Guruvayanakere from Uppinangady when the pick-up van rammed against their two-wheeler killing Abdulla on the spot. The deceased is survived by his wife and three children.
