Mangalore: The Dr Shivaram Karanth Biological Park at Pilikula now has now new members which are bundles of joy. If Tigress Shambavi has given birth two cubs, another leopard is now a mother of three cubs. According to Jayaprakash Bhandary, Director of the Park, the gender of the cubs is yet to be ascertained. Pilikula has a total of seven tigers named Krishna, Kadama, Sharavathi, Netravathi, Illiraja and Vikram, and the two cubs, have taken the tiger population to nine.
The leopard which has now given birth to three cubs, was the one that was trapped in Karkala and handed over to Pilikula Park. The leopard which was then injured, was treated at Pilikula.
The park has presently six leopards and the three cubs takes their population to nine.
