Mangalore: The May 22 Boeing aircraft loss of 150 lives has been finally laid at the door of senior pilot, a foreigner from UK, Zlatko Glusica, who died with a co-pilot, 2 air hostesses, 2 stewards and 144 passengers out of 158 of whom 8 were miraculously saved at the Bajpe (Mangalore) airport.
The final report is ready, close sources in DGCA said today. The Chief Pilot was said to be groggy after a slumber, when he over-ran the landing path, after a few circles in the sky. He was impatient to land.
By the time pilot tried to take off again, the fateful aircraft went down the ravines and exploded, with a torn wing. The co-pilot could not save the tragedy. Cash compensations to the bereaved families have been doled out.
