Mangalore: Commending the conferment of ‘Pingara’ annual award this year on former President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat(Bangalore) on Tuesday in city, Dr. M. Mohan Alva hated that it was a noble tradition to honour those who are involved in selfless and generous social work, to build a healthy society.
He added that HK Punaroor richly deserved this award, spotted by Pingara publishers. Dr. Alva reeled out a whole list of Punroor achievements in housing education, hotels religion and society work, besides literary services standing to his credit.
The Bishop of Mangalore also spoke in praise of the awardee. Accepting the award, Punarooru admitted that his responsibility to do social service had increased now.
Fr. Xavier Gomes unfurled the Pingara flag on the occasion. Several guest touched upon Punavooru’s qualities and work. Jain Muni Charukeerthi presided.
