Bangalore:  An RSS activist has filed a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer against the State Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje accusing her of filing a false affidavit to the election commission prior to the 2008 assembly elections.

Hanume Gowda, the complainant has said that Shobha, in the affidavit had hidden her actual assets. He has said that though Shobha was a promoter and director of a promoter and director of Bangalore-based Yellamma Minerals Pvt Ltd between 2007 and 2010, she had not mentioned the same in her affidavit.

He also said that the minister had 4900 shares worth Rs 49000 of the company, to be its director and has demanded action against her under the Representation of People Act.

However, Shobha has denied the allegation and has said she was ready to face any probe.
