Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has said that there is a plan to develop Mangaluru as a Water Friendly City through the Smart City Project.
Addressing Corporators of the city at the MCC Meeting Hall on October 29, Monday, the Deputy Commissioner explained that there was a proposal to implement 65 projects in eight wards of the city.
He said the Union Government had in 2016 given its approval for the Mangaluru Water Friendly Smart City Project and added that the project implementation has commenced since April 2017.
When several corporators complained that they did not have adequate information regarding the scheme, the DC said he has instructed to launch a website for the purpose.
Mayor Bhasker K presided over the function. Deputy Mayor Muhammad K and MCC Commissioner Muhammad Nazeer were also present.
