Mangaluru: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should intervene in Cauvery row. The Central government should form comprehensive water norms,” said Chief Whip of government in legislative council Ivan D’Souza.
Addressing the press reporters on Wednesday he said that Karnataka is facing injustice in Cauvery water dispute since beginning. Previously the court had ordered to release 15,000 cusecs water for 10 days and the revised verdict has created chaos in the state.
“More than Rs 25,000 crore of properties has been damaged due to the riot. Chief Minister had called for all party meeting also. He also obeyed the court order. Denying Supreme Court’s order is impossible. So there is a need of forming comprehensive water norms for the country,” he said.
MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, MCC member Appi Latha, Nazeer Bajal and others were present.
