Mangalore : Barke Police, on December 18, Tuesday arrested nearly 31 Sri Rama Sena activists who were protesting near the Canara Pre-University College in Mangalore, condemning the act of the College Principal in denying entry an Ayyappa Vrithadhari student unless he adhered to the college uniform rules.
The problem arose on Monday, December 17, when the principal reportedly asked Rakshith, a first PUC student to wear his Ayyappa shawl inside his shirt and then trim his hair and shave his beard. However the student declined and complained to the Sri Rama Sene who began a protest in the college campus on Monday itself.
Barke police are camping in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
