Sullia : Police have apprehended a woman named Ratnavathi and her lover Sunder, on the charges of killing Ratnavathi’s husband Hariappa Gowda (46) by shooting him dead at Kotaje in Yedamangala near Subrahmanya

It is learnt the two had killed Hariappa just because he opposed their affair. If Ratnavathi and Hariappa had three children, even Sunder was married and had two children.

The two were produced before the Sullia magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.

It is learnt Sunder made Hariappa drink alcohol and took him for hunting where he was shot dead and the body thrown to Kumaradhara river. The gun used was hidden in the cattle shed. The two had also prepared a fake death certificate of Hariappa Gowda.

The arrests were possible after Hariappa’s brother Chidanand and his wife suspected foulplay.

Sullia and Subrahmanya police jointly investigated the case.
