Udupi : Police have arrested a married person in connection to the death of Rakshitha Nayak, a college student from in Hiriyadka.

The accused who had gone missing after the young woman whom he had admitted to the Gandhi Hospital on Sunday, had breathed her last.

The arrested person is Prashanth Kunder from Jadkal near Kollur.

It may be recalled here that he had admitted Rakshitha Nayak, a college student from Kukkehalli in Hiriyadka to the hospital on October 24, Saturday night. The young woman was in a critical condition. As soon as she was taken inside in a stretcher the man had escaped and his mobile phone too was switched off.

The girl’s parents meanwhile lodged a police complaint suspecting the cause of their daughter’s death. The man was arrested on Monday.

The post mortem of Rakshitha was done on Sunday night and the report is yet to be available. It is learnt that there were blood clot marks on her neck. It is said Prashanth was an already married man and reportedly he and Rakshitha were having an affair. The exact cause of the death of the woman is yet to be ascertained.
