Byndoor : Police circle inspector Suresh G Naik and team raided a lodge and arrested a gang for consumption and sale of ganja on Friday, September 4.

Five people are arrested in this connection and Goods worth Rs 1,71,500 including six mobile phones and three two-wheelers seized.

Yogesh Ganiga, resident of Matapadi in Brahmavar, Yadunarayana, resident of Thiruvananthapuram, in the state of Kerala, Gururaj Poojary, resident of Bijoor in the taluk of Byndoor, Sunil Poojary, resident of Uppunda and Ravi, resident of Bijoor arrested accused.

It is said, the accused were smoking ganja inside the room of the lodge during the raid. Forty grams of high priced ganja was found in the bag belonging to Yogesh Ganiga.

During the interrogation police have unearthed that the ganja was being supplied by Shabbir of Bhatkal origin. OCB Slim Premium paper pieces that are used to consume ganja are also found by the police in the bags belonging to the accused.

A case has been registered at Byndoor police station.
