Kasargod: Badiyadka police have arrested the prime dealer of banned pan masala products in Kerala state on Sunday.
Abdul Kunhi (57) is the arrested person. He was a resident of Ukkinadka’s rented house. Police have seized 10,360 packets of banned pan masala products from him.
Upon receiving the accurate tip off Badiyadka Additional S I, N K Balakrishnan raided the spot and arrested the accused.
Kunhi was transporting the pan masala packets in a bike from Karnantaka and storing those packets in his rented house. From there he was supplying it to many shops across Kasargod district.
Police have said that, the accused has revealed the shops details where he was selling the pan masala. Police are keeping an eye on those shops to curb the illegal activities. A huge gang is involved in this work.
“Pan Masala packets are being sold at the cost of more than ten times that of its original cost. This activity is equal to the sand mafia,” said police.
