Mangaluru: In connection with the robbery at Vishu Bhat’s house at Perigere Padekari, district CBI police have arrested ten persons.
Addressing the press personnel on Sunday Superintendant of Police Bhushan Gulab Rao Borase said that the incident took place on October 25 and the robbers were decamped with gold and silver after tying up Vishnu Bhat’s wife and maid. Puttur rural police had registered a case.
“Krishna Shetty (35) of Krishnapura, Milan alias Dhanush (24) of Surathkal, Roopesh Kumar alias Roopi (26) of Surathkal, Milton Alwyn Pinto (24) of Surathkal, Bharath (19) of Idya, Rakhi alias Rakesh (19) of Soorinje, Ratan (25) of Krishnapura, Suresh Acharya (34) of Puttur, Praveen Kumar (23) of Sullia and Shabhari Kumar Naik (24) Puttur are the arrested persons,” he said.
He further said that police have recovered Rs 50000 cash with gold ornaments, a Xylo car, Alto car and four mobile phones from the accused.
“During the interrogation it is revealed that there were rumours of treasure in Vishnu Bhat’s house and a gang of criminals were informed about it by Vishnu Bhat’s neighbour Shabhari Kumar Naik. A plan was plotted by Yashodhar Shetty to rob the house and to steal Rs 4 crore worth treasure. According to the plan the robbers had entered the house of Vishnu Bhat,” he added.
A team of DCIB under the guidance of SP Bhushan Borase, ASP Dr Vedamurthy, ASP Rishyanth carried out the possession.
