Mangaluru: Police arrested Youth Congress members for protesting against arrival of BJP Chief Amit Shah, on Sunday.

After arriving at Mangaluru railway station, Amit Shah had been to Circuit House. Meanwhile youth Congress members were also gathered at the place to stage the protest. Police had warned them not to stage the protest as they haven’t taken any prior permission for that.

After the arrival of Shah, Congress members shouted slogans against Amit Shah.

Youth Congress President Mithun Rai said that innocents are being killed in the name of ‘Go Rakshana’. “Amit Shah’s visit to the district will affect the communal peace,” he alleged.

Police arrested the protestors as soon as they staged protest.

Corporator Praveen Chandra, Ramanada Poojary and others were present.
