Udupi : The district crime intelligence bureau (DCIB) sleuths arrested four persons in connection with executing the plan of robbery near Manippady Cross on April 23, Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Mani alias Manikanta Poojary alias Sanjeeva (29), a resident of Karamballi Janata Colony, Vishwanath (27) a resident of Pitrody Udyavar, Haroon Rashid (30), a resident of Shirva Topanangadi Bhootabettu, and Ashok G Poojary (29), a resident of Bolaragudde in Udyavar, who are said to be accomplices of known ruffian, Santosh Poojary and is lodged in Hindalga Jail in Belgaum.

The police have also seized a sickle, a sword, a knife and a packet of chilli powder from their possession. Another associate of this gang, Usman have said to be absconding.

Additional superintendent of police Santosh Kumar and Dy SP Prabhudev Mane, under directions of district SP Dr Boralingaiah conducted the arrest operation under the guidance of DCIB police inspector Praveen Nayak.
