Mangalore : The Kadri police have arrested six youths on charges of assaulting a man and a woman riding a bike at Nantur on October 27, Monday.
The arrested are identified as Praveen, Deepak, Prasad, Arun, Yuvaraj and Rakshit, said to be activists of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike.
The victims are said to be employed in a shoe retail outlet in a mall and belonging from two different faiths.
According to the man, he was helping the lady reach her place of stay at Nathur, while he was on his way home.
However, HJV activists said that they have watching their movement for some time and noticed that woman hailing from Kodagu and the man from Haleyangadi had taken a weekly leave to move around.
Police have filed case against the six arrested activists.
