Mangalore : The Mangalore Police department under the guidance of Police Commissioner arrested two murders of Taxi driver Govardhan on October 5, Wednesday.
Speaking at the press meet, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh at his office on October 6, Thursday said that Reportedly, four strangers had hired 32 year old driver Govardhan’s Indica car bearing the registration number KA 19-D-1578 from Bejai Car Park to reach Karkala and the same night they murdered him near Belman and dumped his body in the road side and parked the car near Suzlan Company Highway, Padubidri.
The arrested are identified as Mahanthesh Honnappa Annigeri (26), son of Honnappa, resident of Nandihalli, Hosa Niralagi Post, Savanoor Taluk of Haveri district. Presently, he is residing at Jalligudde, Kottara Chowki, Kavoor Post, Mangalore and another Somashekar (29), son of Kariappa, resident of Burudakatte village, Hosadurga Taluk, Chitradurga district. He is presently residing in Shivanna Compound, Vamanjoor Check post, Vamanjoor, Mangalore.
He also said that the murders are working as the tipper driver and are not professional murderers, but unfortunately they killed him for money. The police officials did good job but it was bit delayed while collecting the documents.
