Mangalore : Pandeshwar police on Thursday August 7 arrested a woman accused of duping many entrepreneurs in city with fake promise of providing self-employment ventures.

The accused Haseena, the owner of Chintan Marketing Private Limited, Mangalore, is a resident of Jeppu. Haseena has been booked under IPC section 420.

The arrest was made on the complaint filed by Tulunada Rakshana Vedike on July 2, for duping people.

According to sources, Haseena used to run Entrepreneurs’ Multi Purpose Co-operative Society and Janashri Food Products. Later he was introduced to Vijaya Nair, working at the Rudset (Rural development & Self Employment Training) programme at Ujire and promised to provide materials to start a self employment venture.

After making the payment a year ago, Haseena has not provided any products to Vijay, in another case victim Nazeer had deposited Rs 5 lakh in Entrepreneurs’ Multi Purpose Co-operative Society but later he was too cheated.

The victims have lodged complaints against her in Kankanady and Pandeshwar police stations.
