Sullia: In a shocking incident, a priest of Kukke Subhramanya temple, Srinivas has been allegedly assaulted by a police constable on Saturday.

Sources claim that, the priest was on his way to the temple to offer evening puja, that is when a police constable named Shankar stopped and questioned him. Srinivas told him the constable that he was going to offer puja, but Shankar refused to listen and beat him up with his lathi.

Vipra Parivar Organization has now urged SP and DC of Dakshina Kannada district to suspend the constable immediately.
