Udupi: Police Martyrs Day was observed in Udupi on October 21, Sunday by the Udupi District Police Department at the Udupi District Armed Reserve Police Grounds.

Additional Superintendent of Police Chikmagalur District Mithra Heraje read out the names of 574 policemen who lost their lives while on duty in the current year in the country.Two police martyrs are from Udupi district.

Udupi district Fast Track Court Judge J S Revankar was the chief guest. Udupi DySP Prabhudeva Mane, Kundapur DySP Yashodha Shibroora, Karkala DySP Jayanth V Shetty, and several others were present.
