Mangalore : City Police Commissionerate has provided a facility for the Mangalorean to lodge an immediate complaint, even without visiting the station through
a new modem called ‘Interactive Voice Recording System’.
Explaining on the features of IVRS, Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh said that people can call to 2222212 to lodge their complaints from home.
He also said that this system is time saving for the complainants and as the people lodge complaints through this system, the department register it and also update the department‘s action against it.
The complainant can opt to speak in Kannada or English, since it will take the procedure forward to register a complaint.
During the procedure of complaint, the person had to record his name, postal address, contact number and e-mail id, before recording his grievance in minute and conclude it with #(ash). Then the system will provide the complaint number for complainant for future purposes.
The grievance of the people give through voice recording will be changed to written material by the assigned person of the department and further send to commissioner, to forward it to officials of concerned stations.
Singh also said that, the department maintains the system limited for the calls received from the city and further plan to make it a toll free number.
