Udupi: A dog show and a disaster management programme was organized at the St Cecily’s College grounds here on December 6, Thursday by the District Police Force to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Indian Police Force.
Police dogs stole the show while Arun, a two year old displayed his skills in sniffing and tracing the criminals, seven year old Blacky, an expert in bomb detection, detected a dummy bomb hidden in the school ground.
Police band played patriotic tunes. Patriotic songs were also rendered. A Mock drill on rescue operations in times of disasters was conducted by the fire service and Home Guards.
Senior police officials including DySP Prabhudeva Maane, Circle inspector Maruthi Nayak, District Reserve Police Force Inspector Yadhavad, Sub inspector Lingaraju, and others were present.
