Mangalore : In an incident reported on the night of  August 13 night at Darandabagilu Pilar in Thokkottu, Varun, a policeman of Asaigoli reserve police force was arrested for reportedly commit theft in the house of an advocate. The arrested cop is from Madikeri.

The house belonged to Anand Gatti. At around 11.30 pm Anand heard some sound in the first floor and very soon a person ran down the stairs and escaped from the front door leaving the family shocked.

Locals gathered and a search was launched and a little away near the Darandabagilu Temple his Activa bike was found and after a wait for over an hour in hiding, the locals trapped him. It was then that it came to light that he was a cop.

The Ullal police who arrived, arrested him.
