Mangalore : Police Martyrs Day was observed by the District Police Department on Ocober 21, Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy the services of the police personnel who laid down their lives while on duty should forever be remembered with respect.

Manish Kharbikar, Mangalore Police Commissioner informed that  19 police personne have died in the state while on duty while the number stood at 527 in the nation.

He said two police personnel namely TN Shivarajappa of Mangalore and Bhasker Kulal of Udupi too died while on duty.

Wreathes were placed at police memorial.
