Mangalore : The police officials have successfully nabbed 3 men for their involvement in the murder attempt of Ravi, a rickshaw driver at Kandavar in Bajpe on Nov 13.
Speaking at the press meet Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the police had formed 4 teams to crack the case.
The police have arrested Hanif alias Mada Hanif (26) of Bantwal on the complaint filed by Ravindra Shettigar, a witness of the crime. The police also seized a Maruti Omni and a weapon from Hanif.
Singh said that the attackers in order to take revenge against Ravi for giving an information regarding rowdy sheeter Kabir to his murderers, which helped them to kill him easily kill Kabir at Charavu near Gurupur on Feb 25, 2011.
Kabir’s brother Abdul Majeed and Abdul Rahiman of Addur, were too arrested who were wanted in the Candle Santhu murder case. These three have already been booked on six, two, and one count, respectively.
The trio had attacked Ravi with iron rod, a sword, and a wooden shaft with the intention kill him. With the belief of Ravi being dead, they fled from the scene. But since Ravi was rushed to hospital on time and is now out of danger.
DCPs Dharmaiah and Muthuraya were also present.
