Bengaluru: Police have nabbed a kidnapper’s gang, who were kidnapping rich people’s children to make money for their movie.

Kidnappers were arrested during the rescue mission of Ishan (19), who was kidnapped by a gang of five people. Muniyappa alias Eshwar, Kodigehalli Hasan Dongre, Gantiganahalli Jagadeesh, Chikkabommasandra Jagannath and Manoj are the arrested persons.

Muniyappa was producing a movie named ‘Challenge’ and he had released the poster also. As they were lacking in money for the shooting of the movie, they planned to kidnap rich people’s children and to demand for ransom, said Police Commissioner N S Megharik.

“They were following the movements of Ishan. They had a old Matiz car a new sim card for the abduction purpose. They had kidnapped Ishan on August 23 near Kogilu cross and demanded for a ransom of Rs 50 lakh,”he added.

He further said that Muniyappa took the mobile phone of Ishan and contacted a girl from his number and demanded for money and jewellery from her also. They threatened her to show the pics of her and Ishan together to her parents. When that lady approached police, police started to spread their web for the kidnapper’s. On the direction of police lady called the kidnapper’s and ask them to meet her to get the money.

“She went in a auto and Chikkejala PSI Naveen was the auto driver. Hasan Dongre had come to receive the money. Naveen brought him to the station and while interrogating him he revealed everyth9ing,” said Commissioner.
