Mangaluru: Mangaluru north police on Monday evening have arrested the student who assaulted Milagres College principal Fr Michael Santhumayor.

Mohammed Shahnawaz son of Mohammed Mustafa, Pandeshwar is the arrested person.

Police team led by Bunder Inspector Shantaram Kunder conducted the possession and arrested the accused at Pumpwell, said sources.

Shahnawaz had assaulted Fr Michael on October 20 for not issuing the examination hall ticket.

He was absconded after the incident and police had formed three teams for the arrest of the accused.
