Mangaluru: “Three accused, who were absconded after Sandeep Shetty’s murder were arrested by the police,” said Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said Monkeystnad Vijay (30), Melrick alias Melrick D’Souza (20) and Praveen alias Chotu (23) are the arrested persons. Accused were arrested at Bekkari, Raybhag taluk in Belagavi district.

“Previously in connection with the murder Nikhil Shetty, Annayya, Dhanaraj, Abhishek and Sampath were arrested. Personal grudge is said to be the reason behind the murder,” he said.

He further said that Monkeystand Vijay has 16 cases on him including attempt to murder case, Melrick has five cases and Praveen has 3 cases on him. 10 thousand cash prize and certificates will be given to the police team who were the part of the possession.

Mangaluru ACP Shruthi N S, Mangaluru Circle Inspector Belliyappa, Mangaluru SI Muhammad Shareef led the police team during the possession.

DCP Shantharaju, Dr Sanjeev Patil and ACP Shruthi N S were present at the press meet.
