Mangaluru: Two suspects have been arrested by the Panambur police in connection with a dead body found in a suspicious way at Panambur on 6 September.
Govindappa Lamani (24) and veeresh Shivappa Lamani of Haveri ranebennur are the arrested persons. It is suspected that illicit relationship is the reason for murder.
On September 6 police had found a body of a man at NH 66 near Panambur and the deceased was identified as Rekhappa alias Rakesh lamani (26) of Ranebennur. It is reported that one of the accused Nagaraj had a illicit relationship with Rakesh’s wife Savithri and Rakesh knew it. When Rakesh said that he will go to his home town, Nagaraj thought that Rakesh will inform about his relationship with his wife to the home town people.
So, Nagaraj planned to get rid of Rakesh and sought help of Govind and Shivappa. Nagaraj took Rakesh to State Bank along with other two and offered him drinks along with biriyani. Nagaraj gave rakesh enough liquor till he loses his consciousness. After that they took him to Panambur in an auto rickshaw.
After that they killed Rakesh by dipping him into the water and throwing a concrete boulder on him for three times.
Accused have admitted their fault during the investigation and they have also said that they left the place only after confirming Rakesh’s death. Police are investigating the case for the further evidences.
