Mangalore : Panambur police on Monday May 5 nabbed two thefts for robbing valuables from a couple who was seen strolling at Tannirbavi beach near Panambur.

The arrested are identified as Hanish (21) from Kudroli Bengre, and Anil (20), a resident of Bokkapatna Bengre and recovered the cash amount of Rs 700, motar bike and other valuables from their possession.

It is learnt that, Sooraj Kumar, a resident of Gurpur who have visited to the beach along with the woman known to him, when two youths came in the motarbike and snatched away a purse, Rs 1,000 in cash, and two cell phones from them. Immediately Sooraj Kumar lodged a complaint at Panambur station.

The police who immediately jumped into the action had order to set up barricades at various places and keep an eye on the vehicles moving, arrested the duo near MRPL gate and produced before the court.

The team comprising of police inspector N R Mukti and police sub-inspector Bharati G, participated in the arrest operation.
