Bengaluru: The petition filed by senior police officer Pranv Mohanty and A M Prasad was withdrawn voluntarily by the officers from the High Court on Thursday. They had filed a petition seeking stay against the FIR on them over DySP Ganapathi suicide case. The HC disposed their petitions after passing direction to hold impartial probe.
Single judge bench of the HC, Justice Anand Byrareddy, directed the government to conduct the probe into Ganapthi’s suicide case using high ranked officers.
Madikeri JMFC court had upheld the request of ganapthi’s son Nehal seeking FIR against Mohanty and Prasad. The court had ordered the police to file FIR against Mohanty, Prasad and George. Mohanty and Prasad had approached the HC seeking stay to the FIR process, but thr court dismissed their plea.
