Mangalore : PUCL Vice president Kabeer Ullal has been charge by the false complaint of terrorist in conspiracy, said PUCL president David D’Souza.

He was speaking at the press meet held on Dec 17, Monday, he said that because of Kabeer’s work in PUCL in protecting the Human and Civil Rights of citizens in the DK District and speciaaly in Ullal area dominated by Muslim minority community, hence he has earned the wrath of some corrupt police officers.

David said that he may be trapped in a fake case, a member of a terrorist outfit, so that his voice can be silenced permanently and he can remain in custody without a bail.

Kabeer was booked under Rowdy list by Inspector Jayanth Shetty and Shivaprakash, which was ultimately got removed from the rowdy list with the intervention of the High Court in course of his work he has exposed corrupt and in human acts against minorities. He had brought the misdeeds of corrupt police officers to the notice of superior officers, which angered them.

Kabeer said that the police have created a false complainant named Shiek Issac and filed complaint against him since he has been helping many poor people in the Ullal area and corrypt officers are not getting any additional benefits from the people, so they have charged case against him.

The two cases filed against him have been dismissed and there are no cases pending against him, he said.

He said that the police officers who are affected by his work are Jayanth Shetty, now DYSP in Udupi, Inspector Venkatesh Prasanna in CCB, Konaje SI Shivaprakash and CCB SI Shamsundar. Hence he would file defamation case against them.
