Udupi : A police patrol team found pamphlets and books belonging to Naxals at Bajagoli on April 12, Saturday.
According to additional SP Santosh Kumar, the pamphlets are said to be the handiwork of Naxals, which were found in the bordering Udupi-Chikmagalur district at around 5:30 am.
He also said that the pamphlets might have been distributed by the Naxals themselves or by their supporters, in order to draw the public attention and instill fear among voters ahead of Lok Sabha election.
The pamphlets and books comprised of protest against the election system and also highlighted Kudremukh project, implementation of Kasturirangan report, tiger project, Inam land and others.
The Naxals have said to blocked the national highway by toppling a tree, but it s not ascertain whether they did it or the tree got uprooted due to strong wind, said police.
