police march Mangaluru: Police have made elaborate security arrangements in Dakshina Kannada district in the wake of Mangaluru Chalo Bike Rally and a party convention to be organised by state BJP youth wing on August 7 at Nehru Maidan in Mangaluru city.

The police department hasn’t yet granted its permission to the bike rally followed by a party convention in Mangaluru city citing security reasons as the district is returning to its normal state after a series of incidents of communal violence during the past three to four months. Karnataka state government has also stated that the rally could spoil peace in Dakshina Kannada as a number of organisations in the district have objected the rally.
