Bangalore :  The Nelamangala rural police raided a guest house at a residential layout in the wee hours of Friday where some youths were allegedly organising a “rave party”.

The police arrested 14 live-band girls dressed in a provocative manner and 20 men including realtors, businessmen and private firm employees. The arrested girls are from Kolkata, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Police said that after live bands were banned, girls were being used in rave parties run illegally on the city outskirts.

However, around 10 people, some of them influential persons, managed to escape and police are on their look-out. Police added that the rave party was conducted at the same venue a few days ago. It is difficult to get a view of the happenings inside the layout as a high compound wall is constructed around the building.

The arrested from the venue were booked under the Excise Act for being in possession of a large quantity of liquor and liquor being served well beyond  the 11.30 pm deadline besides section 294 of the Indian Penal Code which pertains to performing obscene acts and songs.

The police have recovered Rs 50,000 in cash, eight cars, four two-wheelers, 27 mobile phones along with 45 bottles of beer and few Indian-made foreign liquor bottles.

All the arrested are remanded to judicial custody after they were produced before the Nelamangala Judicial Magistrate First Class Court.

The guest house is built inside the a residential area on the Nelamangala- Doddaballapur Road near Guttepalya and is developed by one Bhaskar Reddy of Hyderabad. A case against Reddy, Satish, the manager and few other pimps who were arranging the girls for the show, is registered.

Following restrictions on live bands by Bangalore police, illegal live band activities have now shifted to the outskirts, mainly at resorts and farm houses near places like Nelamangala, Hoskote, Kanakapura, Ramanagaram, and Tavarekere.
