Kasargod: Police have seized unofficial documents, computers and stamp seals after raiding a private travel agency on Monday evening at Uppala. Police have taken one person into custody for the further interrogations.
The possession started at Monday evening 5.30 and went till 8.30. For the further investigation purpose police have locked down the shop and sealed it.
The agency was operating since past five years and it was registered in the name of Ansar of Peringadi near Uppala Mehboob petrol pump. Upon receiving the tip off of about the illegal activities which were happening in the agency police higher officials have directed for the raid.
From past one month police were observing the agency shop and on Monday Kumbla Circle Inspector V V Manoj, Manjeshwara SI P Pramod, separate squad of SP, cyber cell officials and others raided the shop.
Police have found 70 passports, pen drives, three computers, hard disks, bank passbooks, letterheads, stamp seal, experience certificates and letterheads of various governmental offices and schools and colleges. Police have taken all the documents into custody and investigating the case.
Moreover, Rs 1,32,500 has been seized by the police. Police have said that the agency owner has escaped from the spot before the arrival of police. The raid was conducted upon receiving repeated complaints of fake passports, driving license, sand transporting license and other documents using fake certificates.
