Mangaluru: Police raided district prison on Monday and seized 29 mobiles along with ganja.

Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar, a team of police raided the prison at around 2 am on Monday.

Police have seized 29 mobile phones, 12 sim cards, 1 knife, 1 metal punch. Iron rods, unspecified amount of ganja and other things.

As per the police sources inmates were using WiFi connection to use the internet through mobile phones.

Raid was led by DCP Shantharaju, DCP Dr Sanjeev Patil, ACP’s Uday Naik and Thilakraj, Inspectors Rajesh, Maruti Naik, Shantaram, Raveesh and other staffs.
