Udupi: SP Laxman Nimbargi spoke about the case and said,” There are many rumours in public in connection to the case. We have not arrested anyone so far, but investigating someone. If anyone is arrested or interrogated, information will be given. More information cannot be revealed as it may cause an impediment in the investigation. Though it is a challenging case we will try our best and solve it.”
“Investigation is being conducted. We have seized some parts of the Shiroor Moola Math and Shiroor Math in Car Street. Daily puja and other activities are being conducted without any difficulty in both these Mutts. We are waiting for the post mortem and FSL report. It may arrive in 5-6 weeks. Good officers from the district are investigating the case. CCTV footage will also be checked and the case is being investigated from all possible angles,” he explained about the case.
Shri Esha Vithaldas Swamiji of Kemaru Mutt and Shri Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt visited Udupi superintendent of police (SP) Laxman Nimbargi to discuss about the death case of Shiroor Shri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji and to request for impartial investigation into the case.
Kemaru Mutt Swamiji spoke with reporters and said, “We discussed about progress in the death case of Shiroor Shri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji. We are asking for justice. We had a small doubt regarding the case which has been registered. Our legal advisors told that the case has been registered under CRPC and under this case the culprits can easily be let off. But SP has assured that no such provisions are available for the culprit and impartial investigation will be conducted. Police are waiting for the post mortem and FSL report”.
“Commenting about his character after the death is not correct. I request Pejawar Swamiji to stop commenting about someone’s character. Pejawar Swamiji has taken part in many Hindu protests and activities. Now it’s time to stand united and ask for the justice. Shiroor Swami had discussed about his business relations with a Mumbai based businessman and about the Rs. 10-12 crore owed to him by the businessman in connection Kanaka Mall in Kalsanka. We respect Swamijis of all the eight Mutts and have not commented about them publicly in any media,” he said.
