Mangaluru: Mangaluru Unit Hindu Jagaran Vedike Coordinator Bharat Raj Agaramelu has lodged a complaint at the Suratkal police station alleging that he was assaulted by a group of people with swords on Monday.

However, the police suspect that the above complaint is false and politically motivated.

“The details given in the complaint and those that the complainant is stating during the questioning don’t tally. There is cause to suspect the veracity of the complaint and investigations are on,” said Mangaluru DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya.
