Mangalore : A delegation of members of the general public who were cheated by an astrologer, have urged Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar  to initiate action against Kalmadi Jagannath Joshi, an astrologer in Tokkottu  for  cheating them.The delegation was led by JD(S) leader MG Hegde.

Speaking to reporters outside the Commissioner’s office, Hegde said  the astrologer was promising door to door pooja service to his clients in order to solve their problems and then used to walk away with gold ornaments with a false promise to return them.

One of those cheated by the astrologer revealed how Joshi acquired his property after making empty promises and getting him sign an agreement.

MG Hegde also revealed another case wherein a person named Aitha of Tokkottu too was cheated.

The delegation sought the intervention of the Police Commissioner and demanded that a probe be ordered into the case. DCP Mutturaya accepted the memorandum from the delegation on behalf of Mr. Kharbikar.
