Mangalore : Polling to the local administrative bodies in DK and Udupi district which saw a poor turn out in the Mangalore, has picked up by around 1 noon and a polling per centage of 50.97 has been registered in the 544 polling booths of the district. A polling percentage of 51.85 is registered in a total of 148 booths in Udupi district.
The polling percentage in Mangalore is 41 by 1 pm, 43.8 in Ullal, 52.2 in Moodbidri, 52.8 in Bantwal, 52.4 in Puttur, 55.5 in Belthangady and 59.1 in Sullia.
In Udupi, the polling percentage by afternoon stood at 48.25, in Saligrama 56.42, Kundapur 49.31 and Karkala 53.40.
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel exercised his vote at the Ladyhill School at Kateel at 8 am. Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker and Krishna J Palemar, MLA of Mangalore North constituency, cast their votes at the DIET institute close by Canara College.
