Mangalore : The two-day Padayatra by senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari in support of the party’s Mangalore South candidate JR Lobo, commenced at the Morgansgate on April 18, Thursday.

The party candidate JR Lobo, a number of party workers and well wishers took part in the Padayatra which  concluded at State Bank circle after passing through Jeppu Market, Cascia High School Road, Marnamikatte, Nandigudda Circle, Valencia, Kankanady Junction, Bendorewell, Balmatta, Jyothi Circle and  Hampankatta.

Speaking on the occasion, Poojari urged the people to support the congress as they did in the ULB polls. He said the Congress was firm on its decision not to hike property tax during its tenure in MCC. He urged the people to support the Congress candidate JR Lobo.

On April 19, Friday the Padayatra will begin at 3 pm at Kadri Shivabagh election office of the Congress. From there it will head towards Mallikatta Junction, City Hospital, Bunts Hostel, PVS Circle, Besant Road, Ballalbagh, Lalbagh, KSRTC bus stand, Bejai Kapikad and  Kotekani Road, Kottara. The Padayatra will culminate at Urvastore junction.
