Mangalore : B Janardhana Poojary, Former Union Minister celebrated AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s 66th birthday with senior citizens on Dec 10, Monday.

Poojary distributed fruits to the senior citizen in Prashanth Nivas Ashram and St Antony Ashram, Jeppu.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that Sonia Gandhi was suffering from brief illness and with the prayer and blessings with their blessing Mrs Gandhi is fine.

He also said that Congress party had faced some difficulties, but with nothing bad had happened.

He also handed over the amount of Rs 16,000 from his pension to the ashrams. He also appreciated the nuns for their commendable service towards these senior citizens.

Ashram head Sylvia Fernandes, Mayor Gulzar Banu, congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, T K Sudhir, Moideen Bawa, J R Lobo, Nagendra and Jacinta Alfred were present.
